Welcome to the 'Médiathèque Autonome' (Autonomous Media Library)*!

After Paris, Clermont-Ferrand and Liège, the Médiathèque Autonome is very happy to be moving to Montpellier for the fall and to be deployed in the Mécènes du Sud space with its friends, allies, colleagues, and role models: Neïla Czermak Ichti, Youri Johnson, Luna Mahoux, Rafael Moreno, Cecilia Vicuña, Walter Swennen, Agatha Wara and Slow Reading Club. Poésie contre fin du monde (Poetry against the end of the world) is the idea of an exhibition as an answer to the question, how are you? but without an embarrassed smile or an automatic yes. We will be together and try to create a space to welcome our words and those of others. To reflect on what we say and face everything that is meaningless and tries to leave us speechless on the sidelines. To try to have a little strength and hope for the future.

Around tables, on sofas, we can consult texts, images, documents that attempt to create, disseminate and circulate ideas and words to think about the city, life, work, sex, knowledge, existence, love (........). We can make brochures and fanzines. We can meet there to discuss. It hosts readings, workshops, screenings and other proposals according to desires, meetings, possibilities.

*Médiathèque Autonome is a consultation and sharing space imagined by Ethan Assouline.
