Thomas Houseago in Mille et une vies
19 April—14 December 2025
Group exhibition at Espace Monte-Cristo, Paris, France
From April 19 to December 14, through a selection of more than thirty sculptures by French and international artists, the exhibition Mille et une vies [A Thousand and One Lives] offers a journey illustrating the different facets of the individual as a natural and social being, intimate and universal.

By representing the human being in three dimensions, sculptors tend to show the hidden side of what we are. Whether organic or fantastical, the works explore the notion of otherness by questioning the hybridity that resides in each of us, as well as our relationship to the living; the construction of our identity in society; to finally encounter the different faces of this 'other' who hides deep within us. Closing this journey in a delicate and contemplative atmosphere, an interior garden brings together sculptures in the harmony of a peaceful ecosystem.
Conceived as an introspective stroll into the most unknown corners of our beings, the exhibition gently and poetically explores the relationship we have with our identities. Questioning the fragility of the construction of our personalities, it proudly deploys the range of nuance surrounding our lifestyles, as well as notions of gender and origins in order to better understand and recognise, in our differences, these others with whom we are one.
