The travelling exhibition Louise Bourgeois: I have been to hell and back. And let me tell you, it was wonderful. previously shown at Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan, is the first major exhibition by Louise Bourgeois in Taiwan, featuring over 60 iconic works. The exhibition showcases her widely recognised sculpture Spider, rare early paintings, and the highly symbolic Cells series, among others.

The exhibition is divided into three chapters and two columns. The three chapters focus on “Motherhood,” “Reflections on the Father,” and “Inner Healing,” delving into the artist’s personal experiences and creative process. The two columns highlight Bourgeois’s rarely seen early paintings and her seminal sculptures from the 1960s.

This exhibition aims to offer visitors an intimate glimpse into the life and emotional struggles of this extraordinary artist. Through Bourgeois’s unwavering artistic spirit, the exhibition profoundly engages with themes of life, memory, and emotion, inspiring deep reflection on human existence and the inner self.
