Huma Bhabha in Tilia
21 September—3 November 2024
Group exhibition at Moly Sabata, Sablons, France
Some figures disappear without their influence dying. The century-old lime tree of Moly-Sabata welcomed every being passing through the park gate, until it was uprooted by a storm last year. In Europe, this type of tree has remained a welcome symbol throughout the ages. Today, despite its absence, the hospitality of the site persists. The exhibition Tilia invites us to wonder what we do with what remains. Thus, in addition to paying attention to the shaping of the leftover wood, it is a question of being enthusiastic about objects that receive others, in an imperturbable benevolence.
With works by Huma Bhabha, Valérie Bourdel, Gisèle ButhodGarçon, Delphine Caraz, Joséphine Ducat-May, Victor Giannotta, Île/Mer/Froid, Wang Keping, Jules Lagrange, Laurent Le Deunff, Pier Sparta and Oscar Tuazon; as well as a set of 20th century furniture.
