Danh Vō in Portrait of a Collection
4 September—23 November 2024
Group exhibition at SongEun Art Space, Seoul, South Korea
In collaboration with the Pinault Collection, the selection presented here allows us to grasp Danh Vō’s work, strongly marked by a fundamental and original form of displacement linked to his origins. Vō questions some of our contradictions, such as the relationship between colonialism and Christian culture.
His art is also shaped and inspired by the power of nature, which has recently become essential in his new creative ethic and process. The artist uses and recontextualises remnants, fragments of objects that are often charged with intimate and historical upheavals and thus gives them another life, and another meaning.
