| The exhibition City of God presents a corpus of recent works that encapsulate the essence of Alessandro Pessoli's practice: the different media — painting, sculpture, drawing and works in terracotta — are united by a poetics that acts in a (subtly) disruptive way, both on the material of the works and on the psyche of the subjects represented. In the exhibition, Pessoli relates various narrative registers, at times ironic and surreal, at times tragic and enveloping, approximating a director who determines the scenic presence of his characters. |
