In Love is a Strange Thing (2000), Emin walks up to a Bull Mastiff that sits quietly on a small bridge in a London park. She recites a dialogue between herself and the dog. To her surprise, the dog propositions her for sex. Confused, Emin lets him down gently and the dog stares back at her with sad eyes, wounded and rejected. As she walks away, the animal accuses the artist of prejudice. With self-deprecating wit, Emin confronts stereotypes of the male predator and the female seductress.
