Jack Walls on a trip to Fire Island, New York, with Mapplethorpe in 1982. Walls recalled what he wore: “it was just the clothes that I had, the shorts, the sleeveless T-shirt, a little black leather cap, the boots,” he said. “I always wear an ankle boot to this day.”
