Inquire about this work

A TV biography of Rock Hudson plays on the left monitor. The image freezes, and a TV biography of Doris Day starts up on the right-hand screen. Stopping and starting, the two biographies alternate. In “It’s Magic,” the name of the Doris Day biography, Doris is portrayed as an immensely talented, saintly figure. Rock Hudson is shamed for “Acting the Part,” as his biography is titled, notwithstanding the societal pressures which forced him into the closet. Ultimately, his life is defined by his death from AIDS-related illness.
